An overview of our environmental, social and governance commitments, actions, partnerships and measurable progress.
At FPSE, our commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles is rooted into everything we do,
From how we measure our carbon impact to how we support our people, partners and communities across the UK.
As a leading organisation in flood resilience, sustainability is a core part of our mission.
OUR CLIENTS
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Leading the Industry in Carbon Transparency
We are proud to be the first supplier to complete and submit Tier 2 carbon reporting for the Environment Agency’s Property Flood Resilience (PFR) Framework. This advanced level of reporting demonstrates our commitment to full supply‑chain transparency and climate accountability.
Our environmental actions include:
Comprehensive Tier 2 carbon reporting, including upstream supply chain emissions.
Collaboration with Greener Futures Leicestershire and use of the NatWest Carbon Planner to enhance reporting methodologies.
Adoption of robust carbon accounting frameworks to ensure accurate, auditable greenhouse gas reporting.
A long-term plan to continue reducing emissions and raising sustainability standards across the PFR industry.
Environmental Enhancement & Biodiversity
We are actively involved in large-scale environmental improvement initiatives across the UK:
9,400+ trees planted across Nottingham and Cheshire.
Habitat creation projects resulting in a 35% increase in local pollinators.
Watercourse clean-ups supporting Severn Trent Water, Cheshire East Council and Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
Wildflower planting and installation of bug houses to support natural ecosystems and improve air quality.
ISO Certified Environmental Standards
We maintain the following internationally recognised certifications:
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
ISO 45001 (Health & Safety Management)
These frameworks ensure continuous improvement and high-quality delivery across all our operations.

Total Mobile’s BS8484:2022-compliant safety solutions including SOS fobs and app-based functionality, provide 24/7 access to Alarm Receiving Centres, GPS tracking, safe check-ins and automatic “worker down” alerts, with escalation to emergency services when needed. This partnership reinforces FPS Environmental’s ESG approach by prioritising employee welfare, risk reduction and responsible workforce management.
We also have Zero RIDDOR accidents across our 14-year operating history.

Industry Leadership & Professional Recognition
All members of our technical team belong to CIWEM (Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management), holding grades from GradCIWEM through to Fellowship, reinforcing our dedication to competence and continual development.
We are also proud to be a founding member of IPFRA, the new UK trade body for the Property Flood Resilience industry, supported by CIWEM, Flood Re and the Environment Agency.
Raising Standards in the PFR Sector
We contribute to national policy conversations, share expertise with industry partners, and use our extensive online presence (over 1 million views on our flood‑related channels) to raise awareness, improve public understanding and advocate for resilient communities.
